What comes available in this state is shaped by what it runs: the largest data center concentration in the world in Loudoun and Prince William counties, naval shipbuilding at Newport News, federal facilities, and paper and chemical production. On the utility side, Dominion Energy Virginia, Appalachian Power, Rappahannock Electric, Old Dominion Electric all operate here, and surplus programs and system upgrades release both distribution and station-class equipment. Moving it out of Verona means I-95, I-81 and I-64 with the Port of Virginia at Norfolk handling heavy-lift and export freight.
