Transformer Buyers for Data Centers
Capacity refreshes and density upgrades displace nearly-new cast-coil and padmount units on a fixed construction schedule. We buy the displaced fleet and work inside your change windows.

Data Centers: How We Work
Young equipment, hard deadlines
Data center transformers are typically eight to fifteen years old when displaced — well inside their service life. They were specified conservatively, maintained on schedule and have documented test history. That combination produces the highest offers we write. The constraint is never condition, it is the construction schedule, and our job is to not be the thing that slips it.
Working inside a live facility
Our crews are accustomed to badge access, escorted work, designated routes, floor-loading limits and no-dust requirements. We can execute removals at night or on weekends and stage equipment off-site so your dock is not tied up.
Fleet-level pricing
Where a refresh releases twenty or eighty similar units we price at the fleet level rather than unit by unit, which is better for you than a series of one-off transactions, and we phase the removals to match your commissioning sequence.
Equipment We Take From These Sites
Padmount Transformers
Pad-mounted distribution transformers are the single most liquid item we buy. A dead-front loop-feed unit in the 75 to 2500 kVA range with a legible nameplate and a sound tank can be priced from photographs the same day.
75 kVA – 5000 kVA300+ oil-filled units purchased annuallyOil-Filled Transformers
Liquid-filled units — mineral oil, silicone or ester — from 25 kVA pole-mounts up to 20 MVA power transformers. Oil is not a problem for us; containment, testing and disposal are part of what we do.
25 kVA – 20 MVA120–160 dry-type units handled per yearDry-Type Transformers
Ventilated, sealed and cast-coil dry-type units from 15 kVA control transformers up to 5000 kVA unit substation sections. Copper-wound units carry a materially higher offer than aluminum.
15 kVA – 5000 kVA40–60 substation-class units per yearSubstation Transformers
Station-class and power transformers from 1 MVA to 100 MVA, including units with load tap changers, radiator banks and conservator tanks. These are heavy-haul projects and we run them end to end.
1 MVA – 100 MVALots of 10 to 400 units purchased at a timePole-Mount Transformers
Single-phase and three-phase overhead distribution transformers, 5 kVA to 500 kVA. This is a volume item — we buy them by the pallet and by the trailer load out of utility and co-op surplus programs.
5 kVA – 500 kVA25–40 complete lineups per yearUnit Substations
Complete primary-transformer-secondary lineups: incoming section, transformer, and low-voltage switchgear or switchboard bolted as one assembly. We buy them whole and we buy them by the section.
300 kVA – 5000 kVAOther Sellers We Work With
Utilities & Cooperatives
Investor-owned utilities, municipal systems and rural electric cooperatives running surplus disposition, storm change-out backlogs and voltage conversion programs.
Plant lots of 2 to 60 unitsManufacturing & Industrial Plants
Plant closures, line consolidations, service upgrades and idle spare inventory. Industrial plants hold more transformer value in storage than almost anyone realizes.
Site lots of 1 to 100+ unitsDemolition & Decommissioning
Demolition and decommissioning contractors who need the electrical equipment gone on schedule and would rather recover value than pay disposal. Intact is worth multiples of cut.
Campus lots of 2 to 40 unitsHospitals & Institutions
Hospitals, universities and government campuses replacing aging distribution during infrastructure renewal. Well-maintained equipment, strict access rules, immovable outage windows.
Fleet lots of 10 to 200 unitsSolar, Wind & Renewables
Repowering projects, inverter replacements and collector substation upgrades releasing large fleets of relatively young pad-mounted and collector transformers.
Send an equipment list or a few nameplate photographs. We will price the group and schedule around your sequence.
