We take title, not a listing

There is an important difference between a buyer and a marketplace. A listing service posts your transformer and waits for someone else to want it, which means no price certainty and no removal date. A broker does the same thing while taking a percentage. We buy on our own account: we quote a number, we take title, we pay you, and the equipment becomes our problem. That is the only structure under which a firm price and a firm removal date can be promised in the same conversation.

Why we can pay before loading

Paying upfront is only possible if you own your inventory position and know your resale channel. We do. Because we are not financing the purchase against a specific onward sale, we do not need to hold your money until we have flipped the unit — which is the real reason most buyers in this trade pay on delivery or later. Funds go out by wire, ACH or certified check, they clear, and only then does our crew rig your equipment.

Why no testing is required

An inspection contingency is a buyer protecting himself at the seller's expense: the offer looks firm, then the number moves after the unit reaches his yard. We price from the nameplate and your photographs and we carry the condition risk ourselves. You do not need oil analysis, turns-ratio results, power factor data or a third-party inspection to sell to us. If you happen to have test data it can raise the number, but it is never a precondition.

Freight and rigging on our side of the ledger

The crane or boom truck, the rigging crew, spill containment, street-occupancy and oversize permits, escorts and the heavy-haul trucking are all our cost in every state. You get a net number for the equipment and you are never invoiced for its removal. This is the single most common reason a transformer sits in a yard for years: not that nobody wanted it, but that every prior offer quietly assumed the seller would arrange a lift.

Range and condition

From 15 kVA control and dry-type units through 100 MVA station-class power transformers. Working, de-energized, surplus and internally failed units are all routine purchases, as are PCB-suspect and pre-1980 oil-filled units — disposal compliance is priced into the offer and handled through licensed channels rather than passed back to you.

The five factors that set the number

kVA rating, voltage class, winding material, fluid type and condition, in roughly that order. Copper windings materially beat aluminum. Common voltage classes beat unusual ones because the resale pool is deeper. Non-PCB oil beats PCB-suspect oil because the disposal cost is real. A legible nameplate and a sound tank with intact bushings move a unit from the materials category into the resale-asset category, and that difference is usually several multiples, not a few percent.

Single units and fleets

One 500 kVA padmount behind a strip center is a transaction we do every week. So is forty dry-types out of an office retrofit, or four hundred pole-mount cans out of a cooperative surplus yard. For fleets we price the group and phase pickups against your commissioning or demolition sequence instead of demanding one clean sweep.
