What comes available in this state is shaped by what it runs: the Gulf Coast petrochemical complex from Houston to Beaumont, Permian Basin oil and gas, semiconductor fabrication in Austin, very large data center construction across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the largest wind and solar fleet in the country. On the utility side, Oncor, CenterPoint Energy, AEP Texas, Austin Energy all operate here, and surplus programs and system upgrades release both distribution and station-class equipment. Moving it out of Savannah means I-10, I-20, I-35 and I-45 with the Ports of Houston, Beaumont, Corpus Christi and Brownsville all handling our heavy-lift and export loads. Notably, Texas is our highest-volume state. The petrochemical corridor, the Permian, the DFW data center build-out and ERCOT interconnection work each independently generate more surplus transformers than most entire states, and Houston heavy-lift port access lets us move units no road route will take.
