Why Texas equipment moves well

Our interest in River Oaks is not generic coverage — it is that Texas is our highest-volume state. The petrochemical corridor, the Permian, the DFW data center build-out and ERCOT interconnection work each independently generate more surplus transformers than most entire states, and Houston heavy-lift port access lets us move units no road route will take. The industrial base here spans the Gulf Coast petrochemical complex from Houston to Beaumont, Permian Basin oil and gas, semiconductor fabrication in Austin, very large data center construction across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the largest wind and solar fleet in the country, and equipment out of those facilities is usually well specified and worth recovering rather than scrapping. Utilities in the area include Oncor, CenterPoint Energy, AEP Texas, Austin Energy. Freight runs I-10, I-20, I-35 and I-45 with the Ports of Houston, Beaumont, Corpus Christi and Brownsville all handling our heavy-lift and export loads.

A small community is not too small to sell

Where the economics genuinely improve for both of us is quantity. A pallet of pole-mount cans behind a service center, a row of retired padmounts along a fence line, a mixed pile of unknown units — aggregated, that is a trailer load worth real money, and we will send the equipment to load it.

We routinely remove units from basement vaults, upper-floor electrical rooms, fenced substation yards with a single gate, roof-level mechanical decks and live plant floors under escort. Where a unit will not fit through the opening it came in through, we handle door-frame removal, wall coring or on-site disassembly. Where the street must be occupied, we pull the permit. None of that is billed back to you.

Resale value versus scrap weight

Sellers in River Oaks are often quoted a scrap number by a metals yard and assume that is the market. It usually is not.
