Utility territory in and around Kermit is served by Oncor, CenterPoint Energy, AEP Texas, Austin Energy, and the equipment those systems retire tends to be standard voltage-class distribution gear with good documentation. Beyond the utilities, Texas generates transformer turnover through the Gulf Coast petrochemical complex from Houston to Beaumont, Permian Basin oil and gas, semiconductor fabrication in Austin, very large data center construction across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the largest wind and solar fleet in the country.
